David Rogers' Days 2017

Good morning everyone!

There was lots of fun to be had at David Rogers' Days on Saturday, and I think we did all of it. :) We got to hang out with some friends, and we got to do things that we always look forward to doing when we go once a year. It was a great time.

Here is Benaiah making a hook at the blacksmith station.

They had games set up under one of the pavilion/barns. We spent a lot of time up there playing checkers, old fashioned frisby, and running relay races.

Benaiah, trying out one of the slingshots.

They also enjoyed old fashioned "Bad Mitten".

The sack race.

There was also an egg race, but they didn't have any eggs, so everyone just used rocks instead.

A friendly game of checkers. :)

One of the big events was the shoot-off. Benaiah entered the children's, and mom and Grandpa entered the adult's.

For one of the activities, you could learn how to weave. You could weave something with your hands, and you could also learn how to weave with your feet. :)

The pie-eating contest.
It was fun watching Benaiah. He came in third place and was so proud of himself. :)

A candle that a friend made. She twisted it when she was almost done, and look how pretty it turned out!

Part of the magic show.

Lastly were the dances. The first one was so much fun, but I opted out of the second and third one to take pictures. ;)

I always enjoy going to David Rogers' Days. It is so much fun "going back in time" and doing and seeing what the people of a different era did. The dances and making candles are always my favorite. Maybe next year, we'll actually participate in doing something hands on for the children. I think it would be so much fun and a great experience.

The vlog of our day here.

Blessings!
