Florida Trip 2017- Day 1

Well, the trip has officially begun. :) It took us two days to get here, and we arrived yesterday evening.
This morning, we went to the Venice Beach to hunt for shark teeth. We didn't find very many and I tried to stay away from the water when the others (mostly Benaiah) were around. Here are some of the pics I got....

My feet in the water. :)

Grandpa sifting for shark teeth. Do you see the line on his shirt from wet to dry? A big wave came and took him by surprise. Several times, he ended up on the ground. :) We laughed a lot and most of it was at him.

Diella also helped in the hunt. We all enjoy helping, but this time wasn't as fun because they only ended up finding around 10 little teeth. It was still entertaining to watch though.

Diella sifting and Josiah jumping over the waves.

Another one of Diella looking for teeth. She was the most devoted to the task other than Grandpa. ;)

A view of the pier from the beach. Fishing is free, so we will probably spend some time up there also.

Jumping over the waves. The boys especially had such a good time playing in the water,

Saphira searching for shells. She got new sunglasses yesterday and has been wearing them pretty much ever since! :)

Diella took one of the buckets we brought and filled it with sand. She tried to make a sand castle with it.... this was her first attempt at making the base.....
And this is what happened when she went to get another scoop. :) Oops!

Footprint in the sand.

More footprints... walking to the dog beach on the other side of the "no dogs allowed" beach.

A beautiful, and big, Saint Bernard that came to meet us went we walked over. They are such friendly giants! <3

Most of the dogs were in the ocean. Always going to get their toy that their owners threw in. :)

Mom took this picture, but I thought it would be nice to show everyone Josiah and Diella's creation. :) They made a big hole in the sand a little ways from the water (just enough so that when the waves came up, the hole wouldn't get filled in). They made little inlets (if that's what you call them) that went into the "pool" and filled it up. You can see one of them in the bottom left corner. It looks like a little road. The water would enter through there and fill the pool up. It was really fun to watch the water enter and see how much would go in before it soaked into the sand.

As we were leaving, we found this dead Puffer Fish up on the beach.
Okay, that was all the happenings for today! :)
Once at the beach, the auto-focus on my camera wasn't working, so I had to switch to Manual focus. It is really difficult, so if any of the photos are slightly (or horribly) blurry, that's why. :)
Hope everyone is having a great week!
Blessings!
